Abstract

The article is devoted to one of the urgent problems of primary education - the development of reader interest. Today, modern information technologies (computer games, gadgets, you-tube channels, the Internet), attracting the attention of younger students with their colorfulness and accessibility, lead to a gradual loss of interest in reading. More and more attention is paid to communication in social networks, developing the problem of interaction between children, teachers and parents. The solution to this problem can be the involvement of teachers, children, parents of interest in reading books (offline). The purpose of the study is to study the issue of the reader's interest of younger schoolchildren and the study of methods and forms that influence the successful formation of the reader's interests of children of primary school age. The article contains a literary review of foreign and Kazakhstani researchers in the field of studying the problems of reader's interest. The definition of the concepts "interest", "reader's interest" is given. After analyzing the work of researchers, the authors note that the reader's interest in students is manifested: in the positive attitude of children to reading; cognitive, emotional and volitional qualities; in taking into account the age approach to the formation of interest in reading. The authors have developed and tested diagnostic methods to determine the level of formation of the reader's interest in younger students. The methods and results of the study are presented. The experimental work made it possible to determine the range of interests of children's reading. The article pays special attention to the influence of parents on the process of developing reader interest, defining them as a "role model". The conditions, means, criteria and indicators of the development of the reader's interest of younger schoolchildren are proposed.
