Abstract

The era of globalization, which implies universal integration, unification and international cooperation in all spheres of life, also leads to undesirable consequences, among which the issue of national identity stands out. This means the erasure of cultural differences, depersonalization and loss of traditions, languages, spiritual and moral values that were the core and essence of any nation. That is why today the following questions have become relevant: what is national identity and national character, and how to preserve them in the context of ever-increasing global processes? History has proved that national identity is closely connected with national culture, and, consequently, with national literature. It is in fiction that writers convey the way of life, worldview, and moral values of the people through the description of a certain plot. The main tool in the formation and preservation of national identity, and, consequently, the culture of the people, is the national language. It is precisely the word skillfully used by the author, speech turns corresponding to the described environment, era, knowledge of the history of the people and language-all this conveys the national identity, the character of the people, their mentality.

This article discusses the issues of how the national picture of the world is reflected in fiction.

The key question of the work is how to understand the worldview of a certain people, the structure of their national thinking, and at the same time identify the values common to all peoples through reading literary works.

The article provides a detailed analysis of the works of Ch. Aitmatov, V. Rasputin, K. Paustovsky, and draws conclusions about how the authors convey the originality of the national picture of the world, what techniques and methods writers use to convey the national identity of the people, and how the reader, getting acquainted with these works, can get acquainted with the history, culture, and national identity of the people.
